All our Hindu rituals start with worshipping Lord Ganesha first.  Not only on Ganesh Chathurthi, but all Hindus across the world do worship this omnipresent god first. It is our belief that by worshipping Ganesha first on all auspicious events, all obstacles in our lives are removed and that we get success in all worldly affairs.  Our faith in him not only gives spiritual enlightenment but also material benefits.

We all must have seen big Ganesh idols during the eleven days Ganesh Utsav in India.  Ganesha devotees show their devotion and love for him by worshipping tallest idols but these idols that get immersed in water after these Utsav days are over.  Most prominent idols among those are Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja and Hyderabad’s Khairathabad Ganesha.  But do you know where World’s tallest Ganesh idol is?  No, it is not in India.  Yes, you read it right! World’s tallest Ganesha idol is not in India, it is in Khlong Khuean, Chachoengsao Province, Thailand.  He is the tallest Bronze Ganesha (39 meters high) in the world.Thai Princess Soamsawali Phravararajatinuddamat installed this idol.  In Thailand, Lord Ganesha is called as Phra Phikanet” (Shri Vignesha).  Just like Hindus in India, Thai Buddhists worship him as the deity of success and obstacle remover, and also worship him on all auspicious events and inception of new business.
