In the meantime Madam Sonia is believed to convince Rahul Gandhi to be the leader of the opposition party in the Loksabha. If he does not accept this proposal, the party makes ready another probable Mr. Shashi Tharoor, Uttam Kumar Reddy and another one. At present Mr. Adhir Ranjan is leader of the opposition in lower House.
As the high command believes Mr.kamal nath is capable of handling the situations by coordinating and consulting with all party leaders as has good relations with them. Also the party believes him that he can unite and bring non BJP parties on one row.
Mr. Kamalnath, considered close to Gandhi family, is a former Union Minister and has been a parliamentarian nine times since he was elected first time in 1980 Lok sabha elections. Senior leaders in the party also may accept him. He was Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh till Jyothiraditya Scindia defected to BJP along with his 22 followers. Following this Mr. Kamalnath resigned to the post as the party did not have sufficient strength on the floor.
