Buckingham Palace has announced the demise of Prince Philip, aged 99, Queen Elizabeth II’s husband. The statement issued by Buckingham Palace during midday spoke of the Queen’s deep sorrow after his death in Windsor Castle on Friday morning, April 9th. Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, was the longest-serving royal consort in British history, standing by the Queen’s side for more than six decades of her reign. The Palace mentioned, “It is with deep sorrow that Her Majesty, The Queen announces the death of her beloved husband. The Royal Family joins with people around the world in mourning his loss”. Prince Charles travelled from his home in Gloucestershire to visit his mother, The Queen, in Windsor Castle. The funeral arrangements will take place in St George’s Chapel, Windsor, following all the safety precautions necessary for the CoronaVirus Pandemic.
