As a general statement we say we cannot change anyone and anything but COVID-19 has changed everything and everyone. It's a game changer.
Once we had concept of homework now everything is from home, name little changed it is work from home.
Home is everything now. It is a workplace ,classroom, theatre restaurant, park ,fitness center etc,
Attending online classes for kids using laptops, tabs, mobile phones for long hours causing pain in lower back, neck, shoulder, upper back, wrist, eyes etc. All these problems collectively called as repetitive stress injuries.
knowing ergonomics and implementing ergonomics is the only solution to protect our kids from pain. Ergonomics is simply called art of working. it helps on how to setup our own workplace by adjusting gadgets that we use and how we use our body.
Let us implement ergonomics now
1. Don't hold gadgets like tab, mobile phones in hand & don't place laptop on lap.
2. Place Gadgets on table make sure they are at eye level if not use books to elevate the height so that you do not have to bend down all the time.
3. Sit comfortably make sure lower back is well supported when you sit in a chair adjust your body. MOVE BACK. if not use some cushion so that back is well supported
Keep your feet flat on the floor if not reaching ,use some stool so that your foot is rested comfortably.
Don't slouch when sitting. Sit comfortably and relaxed so that all curves in the spine are supported. Maintain "s" shape.
No matter how you sit, get out of chair once every 40 minutes and take 40 steps and do some stretching.
Finally implement Ergonomics to protect our future generations suffering from pain.
