MIM's U Turn, why?
The AIMIM party took U turn on its comments on Saturday. The Party Uttar Pradesh's chief Mr. Shaukath Ali reportedly said that his party is ready if Samajwadi party (SP) make a Muslim MLA as Deputy Chief Minister. Also MIM party National Chief, Hyderabad MP Mr. Asaduddin Owaisi also reportedly said the same thing. But on Sunday Mr. Shaukat Ali refuted the comments taking U turn.
'We said that SP has got 20 per cent of Muslim votes in the previous elections and came into power but they did not make any Muslim as deputy chief minister,' Mr. Shaukat stated today. 'We have never said that AIMIM will go for alliance with Samajwadi Party if Akhilesh Yadav makes a Muslim leader as deputy chief minister if the party comes into power in Uttar Pradesh. Also he said 'We clearly deny the reports stating that because neither I nor AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi made these statements.
It is learnt that MIM leaders are of the opinion that it is too early to speak on alliances as the political situation in the state is not yet consolidated. We can see the possibilities in days to come with which party we can go along. So the statement was taken back, observers felt.
MIM contested in 38 seats in 2017 assembly elections but could not manage to win even a single seat.
