Jammu & Kashmir – Delimitation Process
The delimitation process would be completed by March 2022.
The delimitation process of parliamentary and assembly constituencies in Jammu&Kashmir is expected to be completed by March next year. The delimitation Commission headed by former Supreme court Judge Justice Ranjana Desai with other two members susil chandra,CEC,and K K Sharma state electon commission of union territory.
The Commission has setup to redraw the constituencies of Assam,Nagaland, Manipur,Arunachal Pradesh and J&K. The delimitation Commission will visit in these states after preparing a broad frame work, sources said.
The Commission will consider physical features, existing boundaries of administrative units,facilities of communication and public convenience, sources said. The Commission will visit in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, it seems the process will not miss this time.
Meanwhile, the PAGD (people's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration) was displeased and expressed its disappointment with the outcome of the all-party meeting held by the Prime Minister NarendraModi on 24th ultimo. This is their first meeting after all-party meeting with OM. The leaders of PAGD reiterated their demand that elections should be held after restoration of state hood for J&K.
