India beat sri Lanka by 7 wickets
Take 1-0 lead in 3-match series
India won the first ODI of the 3 match series with Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in Colombo on Sunday with the spectacular performance of Captain Shikhar Dhawan with an unbeaten knock of 86 not out off 95 balls.
Opener Prithvi Shaw launched an attack on Sri Lankan bowling with 43 (9×4)fruns in 24 balls. Debutant Ishan Kishan smashed a quick fire 59 (6×4;1×6) in 42 balls announcing his grand entry into ODIs. India successfully chased a target of 262 losing 3 wickets in 36.4 overs and taking 1-0 lead in the series.
Sri Lanka beat 2162 for 9 wickets. Karauna Ratane 43 not out, Sanaka39, Asalanka 38 are top scorers in their team. Two wickets each for Indian bowlers Kuldip, Chahal and Chahar and one each for Hardhik and Krunal who threw the Sri lankans to defeat.
After completion of Sri Lankan Innings India began to chase and successfully completed its innings in 37 overs. Captain Sikhar Dhawan 86 not out, Ishan Kishan 59, Pridhvi 43, Surya Kumar yadav 31 not out taking the team to victory.
Gabbar creates Records :
Skipper Sikhar Dhavan alias Gabbar Singh created several records in the first ODI with Sri Lanka in Premadasa Stadium Colombo on Sunday. He stands as 4th batsman with 6000 runs in less than innings 140. He also registered a record and stood as first batsman with 1000 runs in lesser innings in Sri Lanka .
