Former AP CM To Be Made APCC Boss
After a series of debacles at national level and in the states the grand old political party Congress is now embarking to regain its past glory. As part of this effort it now focuses on Andhra Pradesh where it completely vanished after the bifurcation of the United state into two – Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
People punished the congress giving no deposits from 2014 elections as they are unable to digest the fact that this party is responsible for dividing the state. Since then the party remains orphaned though Raghuveera Reddy and Sailaja Nath hold PCC President post.
Now it has become necessary for the high command to appoint an appropriate person in the key post, it is considering probabilities that can be appointed. Recently the high command observer Oommen Chandy held discussions with the state leaders on how to bring the party into public by changing their perception and creating confidence among them.
There are reports that they discussed the names that are helpful to take up this task, and learnt that some leaders proposed Raghuveera Reddy, KVP Ramachandra Rao and former Chief Minister of United AP Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy for PCC Post. It is learnt that being a senior politician and able to take timely decisions Kiran Kumar Reddy is the best choice of majority leaders.
They consider his name because of his opposition to bifurcate the state when he was CM and also to gain the confidence of people that he can put the state and party on track . Mr. Kiran Kumar's name was surfaced long back too for the PCC post but for unknown reasons it was not materialised. But again his name is in the list of probables. Mr. Kiran Reddy is well educated and is having good relations with the high command especially Rahul Gandhi.
As Rahul Gandhi is keen on the states, he invited AP leaders to hold discussions on the ground situation and rebuild the party. In the meantime he advised Oommen Chandy to talk with Mega Star Chiranjeevi also to convince him to take an active role again in the party. It is learnt that Rahul will hold a meeting with the leaders before August 15th.
As the high command felt the necessity of aggressive leaders like Revanthreddy in Telangana who was appointed as TPCC chief, in the same scenario, Kiran Reddy may be preferred for the post in AP as he has full knowledge of the state and the state of affairs that prevailed in Andhra Pradesh now. Observers claim that a final decision will be expected by the end of this month.
